Ducks Trade and Select Tyson Hinds
By Michael Walters
The Anaheim Ducks made a trade with the Montreal Canadiens for the 76th overall pick. In exchange the Ducks sent a 3rd round 2022 draft pick to the Canadiens. With their second 3rd round pick, the Ducks chose defenseman Tyson Hinds.
According to scouting reports, Hinds can both ends of the ice with his strong skating ability and transition game. He can be aggressive and will jump up in the play offensively. He can log heavy ice time and can play in all three zones of the rink. He has a impressive style to his game which is fun to watch. He has decent size at 6’3″ and 179 pounds.
Last season he played for Shawinigan Cataractes and Rimouski Oceanic. He had one assist in 10 games with Shawinigan. He had 15 total points(6 goals + 9 assists) with Rimouski.
Sometimes he can get caught deep in the offensive zone, but overall the rewards outweigh the risks of his play.
