The Ducks started their western Canada road trip out in Vancouver against the Canucks. Anaheim built a 5-2 lead early in the third period, just like the previous matchup a week ago back at Honda Center. Canucks rallied in the third period again, but this time came up short and the Ducks held on to win 5-4. Cutter Gauthier scored his second hat trick in back-to-back games.
Anaheim continued their trip in Edmonton against the Oilers. The Ducks found themselves up once again 5-2 in the third period and had to hang on for deal life at the end of the third period. The Oilers fought back scoring twice in the final minutes, but couldn’t get the tying goal to force overtime. Ducks won 5-4.
