The Ducks responded with an encouraging win Sunday evening versus the Ottawa Senators, logging an impressive 6-3 victory at home. The offensive effort continues to shine from the young core, as the defense was able to put a halt to a rough start, surely putting their fans through distress through the first period, something they have been used to in recent history.

After The Horn (November 1 vs Ottawa):

Previously dropping seven of their last eight, Anaheim fell to an early 3-0 in the 1st period Sunday evening. Three goals in the second would tie the contest, along with three more in the 3rd, accounting for six total unanswered goals.

Laurent Brossoit manned the goalie responsibilities for the first time this season for Anaheim, as the front office continues to loom over who serves the Ducks best as the last line of defense. Three of Ottawa’s first seven shots on goal ended up in the back of the net, followed by 13 consecutive saves until the final horn.

Cutter Gauthier seems to have found his groove with a hat trick in the 6-3 victory Sunday, and two additional goals in the Ducks’ loss to Buffalo last week. Judd Caulfield scored two and Roger McQueen scored his second career NHL goal.

Anaheim hopped Calgary for the 5th spot in the Pacific Division with a 6-7-1 record on the season and are on a one-game winning streak, as they head to Vancouver for a rematch against the Canucks Tuesday night.

Before The Drop (November 3 vs Vancouver):

Vancouver remains in last place in the Pacific Division and are on a two-game losing streak following a win against the Ducks last week where they snapped a 10-game losing streak. With Vancouver playing to a 1-8-1 record over their last ten, Anaheim hopes to continue their offensive onslaught against a struggling team and build off the momentum of an impressive victory.

Cancucks’ backstops Kevin Lankinen and Leevi Merilainen have each given up enough goals this campaign to both sit in the last six positions in the league for goals allowed.

Tuesday evening’s contest is likely to be a high-scoring affair with two struggling defenses facing a total of nine skaters who have reached the double-digit mark in terms of points. Anaheim’s previous matchup on October 27th resulted in a 6-5 loss to the Canucks.

Leo Carlsson leads the pack, amongst both teams, with 21 points after recording one goal and seven assists across all of last week, stellar enough to be rewarded with the third star of the week across the NHL.

A Ducks win, along with a San Jose Sharks loss, will put Anaheim in a position to test the top three spots in the Pacific Division in the near future.

Anaheim will visit Rogers Arena for a 6 PM PST puck drop on November 3rd, 2026.
