Anaheim Outlook

The Ducks finally earned a regulation win on Wednesday against the Rangers. Anaheim then quickly came back to reality losing 5-1 to the Ottawa Senators in the Ducks annual Black Friday home game. The Ducks played decent for most of the first period, but then things got away from them in the second period. Anaheim will close out their homestand against Seattle, who the Ducks beat 5-4 in overtime on opening night.

The team has been averaging 2.48 goals per game, but has also been giving up 4.19 against. The Ducks have struggled on special teams this season. They are 11.3% efficient with the extra man, which is dead last in the league. The penalty kill is also at the bottom of the league at 65.7%. Anaheim also gives up on 37.6 shots per game which is the most in the league. They average just under 30 shots on goal per game(29.9).

Troy Terry leads the Ducks with 21 total points(8 G + 13 A).

Seattle Outlook

The Kraken are coming off a key 4-2 win against the Vegas Golden Knights on Friday. Seattle is now six points behind Vegas for first place in the Pacific Division with two games in hand. Seattle is currently on a four game winning streak. They beat the New York Rangers and LA Kings both in overtime by a 3-2 final. They then won a wild game against San Jose 8-5.

One reason for Seattle’s success is their ability to score. They are currently averaging 3.50 goals a game which is 6th best in the league. They give up 2.80 goals against, which is 10th best. They have had some success on the power play, which ranks 15th at 22.4% efficiency. The penalty kill has been shaky at 72.6% efficiency.

Andre Burakovsky leads the team in total points with 20 (7 G + 13 A).
