The Ducks continue their road trip today against the Detroit Red Wings. Anaheim has yet to earn a win on this road trip. The Ducks have gone 0-3-1 so far in their first 4 road games. Their best chance to earn a win came in their last game against Boston where Anaheim could have won in regulation, overtime, and even in the shootout. Instead the Ducks had to settle for one point, but it was arguable their best game of the season.
Anaheim has been averaging 42.5 shots on goal against, while registering 23 in their favor. The Ducks have struggled on the penalty kill(71.4% efficiency) and have been average on the power play(12.5% efficiency). The team has been averaging 2.60 goals per game, but has also been giving up 4.40 against. It’s early in the season as the Ducks try to work some of the kinks out of their game.
Troy Terry leads the Ducks in scoring with 6 total points(3 G + 3 A).
Urho Vaakanainen suffered an upper-body injury when he slammed into the boards during a preseason game against the San Jose Sharks. He is currently on the IR.
Sam Carrick had hip surgery during the off season. He will start skating this month and hopefully could return by the end of the October.
John Moore is also on the IR with an undisclosed injury.
John Gibson 1-2-1 GAA 4.37 SV% .897 (Confirmed)
The Red Wings are off to a decent start with two regulation wins and two overtime losses. Detroit has yet to lose a game in regulation this season. They beat Montreal 3-0 and dropped New Jersey 5-2. They then lost twice in overtime to Los Angeles 5-4 and then Chicago 4-3.
Detroit is averaging 3.75 goals per game and give 2.75 against. They are 12.5% efficient on the power play and have been perfect on the penalty kill so far this season.
David Perron leads the team in scoring with 3 goals.
Alex Nedeljkovic 1-0-1 GAA 2.96 SV% .912 (Unconfirmed)
