Anaheim Outlook
The Ducks ended their losing streak with a solid 5-1 win over the Tampa Bay Lightning. Derek Grant scored twice and Kevin Shattenkirk and Vinni Lettieri also scored to build a 4-0 lead. John Gibson played outstanding in net only allowing one goal against.
The Ducks were without Head Coach Dallas Eakins and assistant coach Geoff Ward against Tampa Bay because they are both in COVID protocol. Mike Stothers coached the team against Tampa Bay and Geoff Ward will coach the team tonight as he is now out of the protocol.
Mike Stothers may have to coach most of the games in Canada because of their COVID rules a person needs to have 10 days since their first positive test before they can enter the country. Cam Fowler and Troy Terry should be able to play in Canada since Fowler first tested positive on the 14th and Terry was on the 15th.
Cam Fowler, Adam Henrique, and Troy Terry are with the team on the road trip. Fowler and Terry will play tonight, but Henrique will not play.
Overall this season, Anaheim continues to thrive on special teams. The Ducks are 24.8% efficient on the power play, which ranks 9th in the league. Their penalty kill is 86.0% efficient, which ranks 3rd in the NHL. The Ducks are tied for second place in the Pacific Division with LA in terms of points.

Anthony Stolarz and Josh Manson are the only two players still in COVID protocol. Stolarz first tested positive for COVID on January 15th. Manson first tested positive on January 18th.
Adam Henrique joined the team on the road trip and has been practicing. He is still listed on the IR and won’t play tonight, but has a chance to play later in the week.
Sonny Milano took an elbow to the face and did not return in the game against Minnesota. He was placed on the IR and is not with the team on the road trip.
Max Jones had surgery to repair a pectoralis major tendon tear and will be out for 4-6 months.
