Anaheim Outlook
The Ducks are coming off an emotional win over the Montreal Canadiens. Anaheim was able to break their six game losing streak, but the bigger story was Ryan Getzlaf. The captain earned an assist on Troy Terry‘s goal, which was his 989th career NHL point with the Anaheim Ducks. He passed Teemu Selanne‘s previous record of 988 points with Anaheim.
Trevor Zegras received a hard hit into the boards during the first period from Cedric Paquette, who was suspended two games for the play. Zegras came back to finish the game and is good to go tonight.
The Ducks have been competitive in their games this season and fun to watch despite losing. They just need to find ways to win games instead of losing them.
Anaheim continues to thrive on special teams. The Ducks are 25.8% efficient on the power play, which ranks 8th in the league. Their penalty kill is 81.3% efficient, which ranks 18th in the NHL.
Rickard Rakell leads the team in scoring with four goals.
Roster Moves:
Mason McTavish(ankle) was sent to San Diego on a conditioning loan.
Injury News:
Jakob Silfverberg was unavailable on Sunday due to being placed in the NHL COVID protocol.
Rickard Rakell left the game against Buffalo holding his left arm and didn’t finish the game. He was placed on the IR with an upper-body injury. He has a shoulder injury and is considered week-to-week.
Max Jones(upper body) left the game early in the third period against Calgary as he appeared to be favoring his left arm while being engaged in front of the net. He was also placed on the IR. He had surgery to repair a pectoralis major tendon tear and will be out for 4-6 months.
