Anaheim Outlook
The Ducks called up Trevor Zegras this past week and Anaheim took on Arizona in two games. In both contests the Ducks built 3-0 leads, but then saw them dissappear. Anaheim lost the first game 4-3 in regulation and then the second one in a shootout.
Zegras looked solid in his first game, but his ice time went down after the first period. He did get a little more ice time in the second game and had a fantastic shootout goal, but many question what Dallas Eakins is doing with Zegras’ ice time. For more discussion on that visit: Zegras Era Begins?
Poor starts, inconsistent play, and scoring have been issues for the Ducks this season. The Ducks average 1.95 goals a game, which ranks last in the league. They give up 2.80 against per game, which is 14th best in the NHL. The power play is only 10.6% efficient, which ranks 29th in the NHL. The penalty kill is ranked 7th in the league at 85.2%.
The most telling stat is Anaheim is 0-10-4 when their opponents score two or more goals.
Max Comtois leads the team in scoring with eight goals.
Team News:
Adam Henrique was placed on waivers last weekend and cleared them. He was on the taxi squad this week and then was promoted back to the roster yesterday. He is expected to play tonight. For more on his situation visit: Henrique Cleared Waivers, Now What?
