Zegras Signs ELC; Ducks Delay Ticket Payments

Trevor Zegras has signed an entry-level deal with the Anaheim Ducks for three years per the Athletic’s Eric Stephens. The contract is worth $2,775,000 with an AAV of $925,000 per Cap Friendly. The deal contains $850k in performance bonuses for the entire length of the contract. The Ducks later confirmed the signing.

The Ducks selected Zegras 9th overall in the 2019 NHL entry draft. He spent last season at Boston University playing in 33 games. He registered 36 total points(11 goals + 25 assists). He had an on-ice rating of +8 and recorded 48 penalty minutes.

He impressed many at the recent World Juniors as he recorded nine primary assists in the first four games for Team USA. Zegras became only the second player in the tournament in 16 years to record nine primary assists in a single World Junior Championship(WJC), joining Brayden Schenn(nine primary assists in seven games for Canada in 2011). Zegras’ nine assists tied him for the fourth-most by a U.S. player in a single WJC. In Team USA’s fifth and final game of the tournament, they lost to Team Finland 1-0 in the Quarterfinals.

Zegras was recently named to the Hockey East All-Rookie Team and was also named to the Hockey East Third-Team All-Stars. He could play with the Gulls if the AHL resumes play for this season.

Zegras is a dynamic player with an amazing vision on the ice and is able to find his teammates in tight situations. Overall he is also a strong two-way player, an excellent passer, and is a very good skater.

This comes as no surprise as there was a discussion of him wanting to turn pro soon at the recent Hockey Hot Stove with General Manager Bob Murray.

Ducks Further Delay Ticket Payments Until Summer

The Anaheim Ducks recently sent out an email to Orange Alliance members regarding the payments for the 2020-21 season.

The first payment was originally due on Monday, March 16th, 2020 and then was rescheduled to Thursday, April 2nd, 2020. The Ducks further delayed the first payment until June 15th, 2020.

The email stated, “In these unprecedented times, the Anaheim Ducks organization is committed to being a great partner in our larger community while also considering the effect this current pandemic is having on you, our extended family.”

Thank you Anaheim Ducks for again pushing back the due date as we deal with this unprecedented incident.

If you didn’t receive the email or aren’t an Orange Alliance member, then here is the first half of the email discussing the delayed payment. If you would like to sign up please visit AnaheimDucks.com/OrangeAlliance.
