Game 4: The Ducks Look To Avoid Elimination

Graphic: NHL

By Michael Walters

The Anaheim Ducks square off with the San Jose Sharks tonight for Game 4 at 7:30 PM PT at SAP Center.

Tonight we will have a watch party at Avila’s El Ranchito in Orange. Click for details: DucksNPucks Watch Party

Anaheim Outlook:

The Ducks have their back up against the wall. Anaheim has dropped all three of the games so far in this series. Reto Berra and Jacob Larsson were called up yesterday, but it is not confirmed if either or both will play tonight. The Ducks are going to have to go all out tonight to avoid being swept.

Keys To The Game

The Ducks have to get a good start in this game and they can’t get frustrated or their season ends tonight. Anaheim had a good start to Game 3, but a couple of goals in the second period caused them to get away from their game. Hopefully, the Sharks exhausted most of their goals in Game 3 and the Ducks can turn things around tonight.

Anaheim’s Projected Lineup:

Offense
Rickard Rakell – Ryan Getzlaf – Corey Perry
Andrew Cogliano – Ryan Kesler – Jakob Silfverberg
Nick Ritchie – Adam Henrique – Ondrej Kase
Antoine VermetteDerek Grant – J.T. Brown

Defense
Hampus Lindholm – Josh Manson
Francois Beauchemin – Brandon Montour
Marcus PetterssonKevin Bieksa

In Net
John Gibson, 0-3-0, GAA 4.18, SV% .882 (Probable)

San Jose’s Outlook:

The Sharks have taken a commanding 3-0 series lead and can advance to the second round tonight. The Sharks poured it on in the last game and ended up winning 8-1.

Keys To The Game

There isn’t much for San Jose to change to their script heading into Game 4. They have only given up three goals total in this series and will look to finish off the Ducks tonight.

San Jose’s  Projected Lineup:

Offense
Evander Kane – Joe Pavelski – Joonas Donskoi
Tomas Hertl – Logan Couture – Mikkel Boedker
Timo Meier – Chris Tierney – Kevin Labanc
Marcus Sorenson – Eric Fehr – Melker Karlsson
