Anaheim Outlook
The Anaheim Ducks finished last season with a record of 35-37-10. This season they look to make a playoff run with a new head coach and almost entirely new coaching staff. The Ducks also traded away John Gibson and Trevor Zegras. Newcomers include Petr Mrazek and Ryan Poehling who were involved in those trades. Anaheim also signed Chris Kreider and Mikael Granlund over the summer.
For the start of the season the Ducks are going with a “traditional” 15 forward, 6 defensemen, and 2 goalie roster. There are a handful of players which are wavier exempt, so the Ducks should be able to roll with 7 defensemen as most teams do during the duration of the season.
Team Injuries/News:
Ville Husso cleared waivers yesterday and was reassigned to San Diego.
Tim Washe was recalled from San Diego yesterday.
Ryan Strome (upper-body injury) did not go on the road trip.
Beckett Sennecke made the season opening roster. According to GM Pat Verbeek, it appears he will be deployed in a similar fashion to Leo Carlsson‘s first season in the NHL.
Projected Lineup (Per Zach Cavanagh)
Offense:

Ross Johnston – Ryan Poehling – Sam Colangelo
