Anaheim Outlook
The Ducks called up Trevor Zegras and then took on the Coyotes in his NHL debut. Anaheim came out flying building up a 3-0 lead even scoring on the power play. In the second period, however, the Coyotes stormed back to tie the game. Arizona got another goal in the third period and Anaheim couldn’t find a game-tying score.
Zegras looked solid in his first game, but his ice time went down after the first period. Many ask question what was Dallas Eakins doing with Zegras’ ice time. For more discussion on that visit: Zegras Era Begins?
Poor starts, inconsistent play, and scoring have been issues for the Ducks this season. The Ducks average 1.89 goals a game, which ranks 30th in the league. They give up 2.79 against per game, which is 17th best in the NHL. The power play is only 8.9% efficient, which ranks 30th in the NHL. The penalty kill is ranked 7th in the league at 84.6%.
Max Comtois leads the team in scoring with seven goals.
