Ducks Sign Carrick and Guhle To Extensions

The Anaheim Ducks have signed Sam Carrick and Brendan Guhle to extensions per Cap Friendly.

Carrick signed a 1-year/1-way extension worth $700,000 without any bonuses. Guhle signed a 2-year/1-way extension worth $700,000 next season and $900,00 for the 2021-22 season without any bonuses. Guhle’s deal carries a $800,000 cap hit for each season and he will still be a restricted free agent(RFA).

Sam Carrick

Carrick spent the majority of his time last season in San Diego playing in 46 games. He registered 43 totals points(20 goals + 23 assists). His on-ice rating was +27 and he had 40 penalty minutes. He also appeared in nine games with the Ducks. He had one goal and one assist. He had a -3 on-ice rating and no penalty minutes in Anaheim.

Brendan Guhle

Like Carrick this past season, Guhle played both in San Diego and Anaheim. He played in 27 games with the Gulls registering 14 total points(4 goals + 10 assists). His on-ice rating was +9 and he had 18 total penalty minutes. In Anaheim, he played in 30 games and had 8 total points(4 goals and 4 assists). His on-ice rating was -2 and he had 10 penalty minutes with the Ducks.

Guhle could see more ice time in Anaheim next season depending on who returns on the blue line. The Ducks still have several defensemen that are not signed for next season. The unrestricted free agents(UFAs) include Michael Del ZottoMatt Irwin, and Chris Wideman. The restricted free agents(RFAs) include Jacob Larsson and Joel Persson.
