Samuelis Continue To Pay Employees Through June
By Michael Walters
The Anaheim Ducks announced that owners Henry and Susan Samueli have informed part-time employees that they will be paid for rescheduled, postponed or canceled events through June 30, 2020.
Originally employees were going to be paid up until March 31st. Now employees will be paid for the events that were scheduled from April 1st through June 30th as well.
Included are all 2,100 part-time staff members of their sports and event management companies per the team press release. This includes all programs and events at the nine ice and inline Rinks sports facilities, the Honda Center, the San Diego Gulls, and JT Schmid’s Restaurant and Brewery.
Tim Ryan, President/Chief Executive Officer of the Anaheim Arena Management issued this statement today:
“The Samueli family’s primary concern is the welfare of their employees. Today is another example of their kindness, generosity, and support for the local community. As a result of their decision, 2,100 dedicated part-time staff members will have one less immediate concern during this significant health crisis. We join them in wishing everybody good health during this unprecedented time.”

I want to, again, personally thank Henry and Susan Samueli for taking care of their employees. I have built friendships with several employees over the years. Additionally, there are members of the DucksNPucks staff that work for the Honda Center and/or the Anaheim Ducks. I am glad everyone will be compensated during this unforeseen situation.
