Jones Is “Ready To Go”
By Michael Walters
There was plenty of excitement after the San Diego Gulls defeated the San Jose Barracuda in Round 1, but some of that was curtailed by the status of Max Jones. He played in all four of the Gulls first-round games but was knocked out of the second period of Game 4. He had four assists in the opening series against San Jose.
Today on the San Diego Gulls Twitter Jones said, “I feel real good. Obviously, playoffs are tough, lots of bumps and bruises, a lot of stuff happens. You just got to play through it. So that’s just kind of what we are all doing now, we are all dealing with own sort of things. I feel great, I feel fine, I will be ready to go.”
It’s great news that Jones is healthy and will be in action for Round 2 against Bakersfield. The Gulls also received some more good news earlier in the week as Max Comtois joined the team. Comtois’ Drummondville Voltigeurs were eliminated from the playoffs by the Halifax Mooseheads. Comtois registered 15 total points in 16 playoff games(11 G + 4 A) with Drummondville.
Here is the Round 2 schedule and media coverage.
