Cam Fowler To Have Surgery, Trade Looms?
By Michael Walters
While the Anaheim Ducks battled the Vegas Golden Knights they announced that Cam Fowler would undergo surgery this Friday. He has a complex right facial fracture affecting his orbital bone, upper jaw bone, and cheekbone. His length of absence will be known after the surgery is completed.
There have been plenty of rumors involving the Ducks and Toronto’s William Nylander. General Manager Bob Murray may now look to trade for a defenseman instead depending on how long Fowler will be out. The Ducks remaining top three defensemen are Hampus Lindholm, Josh Manson, and Brandon Montour.
Fowler played in 19 games this season registering 10 total points(3 G + 7 A). He had an on-ice rating of +3 and was averaging 24 minutes and 42 seconds of ice time a game.
Fowler was injured when a deflected puck hit him in the face during Anaheim’s 2-1 win over Nashville on Monday.
