Anaheim Outlook
The Anaheim Ducks built a 3-0 lead last night on goals by Jakob Silfverberg, Kiefer Sherwood, and Adam Henrique. The Dallas Stars then roared back with three goals in just under three minutes in the second period. The Stars would add another goal and carry a 4-3 lead into the third. The Ducks tried to tie the game in the third but ultimately lost 5-3. An unforgettable second period doomed Anaheim as they gave up 30 shots in that period alone. So far this season the Ducks have been leaning heavily on John Gibson and it caught up with them last night. The team needs to play better in front of him moving forward.
Jakob Silfverberg leads the team with six total points(2 G + 4 A). He and Max Comtois lead the team with two goals. Ryan Getzlaf did practice on his own yesterday, but it’s not likely he plays tonight. He is day-to-day with a groin injury. Ryan Miller should get the start in net. He did play the third period last night. Gibson’s night was done after facing 44 shots in just two periods.
