Anaheim Outlook:
The Ducks continue to look to get healthy. Ryan Miller practiced taking shots from Ondrej Kase yesterday. Randy Carlyle hopes Miller can join the team sometime this week. Cam Fowler skated with the team for the first team, but won’t play tonight. Ryan Kesler is still not due to be back until mid-December at the earliest. Kalle Kossila was sent back down to San Diego, but it appears he might be back soon since the Ducks play five games in seven days. Hampus Lindholm said he was “109%” ready so he should play tonight.
Keys To The Game
The Ducks were able to get some bounces to beat Boston. The Ducks were able to get some traffic in front of the opponent’s net and get some deflections. Anaheim is going to have to continue to do things like that if they want to beat Florida tonight. The Ducks already lost to the Panthers 8-3 this season and can’t afford to get off to a poor start against them. The Ducks look to redeem themselves after suffering their worst loss of the season to the Panthers last month.
Anaheim’s Projected Lineup:
Offense
Rickard Rakell – Derek Grant – Corey Perry
Andrew Cogliano – Chris Wagner – Jakob Silfverberg
Nick Ritchie – Antoine Vermette – Logan Shaw
Jared Boll/Korbinian Holzer – Dennis Rasmussen – Kevin Roy
Defense
Hampus Lindholm – Josh Manson
Francois Beauchemin– Brandon Montour
Sami Vatanen – Kevin Bieksa
In Net
John Gibson 6-6-1, GAA 2.84, SV% .920 (Probable)
Florida Outlook:
The Panthers continue to struggle at 7-10-2 and are currently second to last in the Atlantic Division just above Buffalo. Florida played last night in Los Angeles and lost to the Kings 4-0. Florida has struggled with their special teams. Their power play is 16.7% efficient which is 21st in the league. Their penalty kill is only 73.4% efficient which is second worst in the league.
Keys To The Game
Florida seems to play Anaheim well lately and it usually starts in the first 20 minutes. The Panthers dropped three goals on the Ducks in the opening period when they last met and they never looked back. Radim Vrbata scored a hat trick on six shots on goal. Having played last night Florida needs to play with discipline, they need to avoid getting tired and taking too many penalties or else they give Anaheim a good chance to win tonight.
Florida’s Projected Lineup:
Offense
Jonathan Huberdeau – Aleksander Barkov – Evgeni Dadonov
Jamie McGinn – Vincent Trocheck – Radim Vrbata
Connor Brickley – Denis Malgin – Nick Bjugstad
Micheal Haley – Derek MacKenzie – Owen Tippett
Defense
Keith Yandle – Aaron Ekblad
Michael Matheson – Mark Pysyk
MacKenzie Weegar – Ian McCoshen
In Net
Roberto Luongo, 4-3-1 GAA 2.74, SV% .927 (Unconfirmed)
