Injury Updates; Ryan Miller’s New Mask
By Michael Walters
Today the Anaheim Ducks General Manager Bob Murray provided injury updates on several players.
He had an operation on his hip on June 8th, 2017 to remove several pieces out of his hip. There isn’t a specific timeline for his return, however, the hope is that he will be back by Christmas. According to Murray, “Kesler couldn’t use part of his lower half to skate through the second half of the season. Did a lot to rebuild his glutes/quad.” Kesler was not on the ice for practice today. It appears Rickard Rakell will play center at least to start the season during Kesler’s absence.
Hampus Lindholm and Sami Vatanen
Both had shoulder surgery during the offseason. The goal is to have both return by November 1st. Both skated today and took part in agility drills.
Larsson had surgery to repair an MCL and meniscus injuries. He is still expected to play in the preseason.
Here is a look at Ryan Miller‘s new mask.
