Gulls Sign Max Jones To An ATO
By Michael WaltersToday the Anaheim Ducks have assigned left wing Max Jones to San Diego, Anaheim’s primary development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL). The San Diego Gulls have signed forward Max Jones to an Amateur Try-Out(ATO). Jones plays left-wing and is listed at about 6’3″ and 200 lbs.
Max Jones, 19 (2/17/98), was selected by Anaheim in the first round (24th overall) of the 2016 NHL Draft. Jones has spent his last two seasons with OHL London Knights. He played in 96 regular season games, recording 88 total points(45 G + 43 A). He also appeared in 20 playoff games, recording 14 total points(8 G + 6 A). In 2016, he helped lead London to the Memorial Cup and OHL Championships.
Jones suited up for warm-ups last night in Game 1 of the Gulls first round playoff series against the Ontario Reign(Pictured above). He was wearing number 41 but did not play in the game. The Gulls lost Game 1 by a final of 3-2.
