Anaheim Continues Defensive Focus
By Michael Walters
After a wild win against the Philadelphia Flyers, the Ducks focused on defense and continued to do for the past few weeks. Anaheim has gone 5-1-1 in their last seven games. The Ducks have only given up seven goals during that span and also shutout their opponents three times. John Gibson picked up two shutouts and Jonathan Bernier recorded his first as a member of the Ducks.
One area the Ducks could improve on is the power play. Anaheim has only gone 1-for-20 in their last seven games. The Ducks have also struggled in overtime play going 1-8 in the extra session this season. On this show, we take a look at both and how the team can improve each moving forward.
Recently the Ducks sent Shea Theodore and Stefan Noesen back to San Diego. Anaheim also acquired Jhonas Enroth from the Toronto Maple Leafs. We analyze these recent moves and how they will impact possible future moves as the trade deadline approaches. Lastly, we talk about the new Adidas jersey policy and Kevin Boyle’s new mask.
